How old do I need to be to buy adult-use cannabis in Boston?

You must be 21 or older and show a valid government-issued photo ID at a licensed retailer.

Can an out-of-state visitor buy cannabis in Boston?

Yes. The same age and identification requirements apply, but cannabis cannot legally cross state lines or airport security.

Can I use cannabis in a Boston park, street, hotel, or car?

Public consumption is not legal. Hotels and other private properties may also prohibit use. Never consume in a vehicle or drive impaired.

Can cannabis be delivered to my Boston hotel?

Not under the current Massachusetts residential-delivery rule. A licensed delivery agent must deliver to the consumer's residence—a house, condominium, or apartment—so this directory does not treat a hotel as an eligible delivery address.
